PBM 203, Specialty Medical Management, is designed for those who are familiar with basic features of pharmacy benefit management (e.g., types of prescription drugs and cost-sharing designs).  It also assumes familiarity with the basic features of specialty medications and their management (e.g., dispensing channels and REMS).

The learning objectives of this course are to:
Identify which characteristics of specialty drug administration and billing pose challenges for medical benefit management

Explain why a focus on just a few drugs, patients, and settings can often yield enormous financial returns

List key questions that plan sponsors can use to identify specialty management opportunities

Discuss best practices to decrease costs while maintaining or enhancing quality of care
Please note you are able to access the course until the assessment has been passed. Once the assessment is complete, you will no longer be able to view the course. We strongly recommend taking notes for future reference.
